Char Burgess ’69, ’70 Contributing writer

After more than 50 years of service to the University of Redlands, Char Burgess ’69, ’70 has most recently served as vice president for external affairs and dean emerita. She graduated from the University in 1969 with an undergraduate degree in psychology, and later earned her master’s in higher education and counseling. Burgess spent 48 years in student life at U of R, 23 as dean and 14 as vice president and dean, and has been active in numerous campus committees, including for the University’s Centennial. An avid volunteer who is deeply committed to community service, she also has served on numerous boards for organizations in the greater Redlands community.
